The Mission and Ministry Committee was one of two committees established in 2020 after a generous donation was made to the church establishing the LOTV Mission Endowment Fund. The first committee created was the Gifts and Endowment Committee and the second was the Mission and Ministry Committee (M&M).

The intent of the M&M Committee is to:

• Maintain a current list of “outreach program opportunities” for LOTV.
• Assure LOTV “opportunities” are supportive of the Congregation’s overarching Mission, “That We May Know, Live and Share the Love of Christ” and follows LOTV’s strategic direction.
• Determine when “outreach and program opportunities” should become Proposals and estimate what the cost and anticipated outcomes are.
• Presents proposals to the Church Council. The Council decides whether to accept or reject the Proposal. The Gifts and Endowment Committee becomes involved as the Church Council deems appropriate.
• Develop and lead a process that encourages widespread congregational participation in the identifying of LOTV “outreach and program opportunities.”

Projects Proposed by M&M and Approved by Church Council

• Enhanced Streaming for Worship participation online
• Literacy- Books Gifted to 2nd and 5th Grade East Grand Students
• Outdoor Outreach for all ages ie. hiking group, full moon snowshoe nights, ski together Thursdays, dinner for 6 or 7.
• Faith Chests to be presented at baptisms
• Master Plan for Property
• Pavilion- Intergenerational Community Emphasis
• Alzheimer’s/Dementia Awareness workshops
• Grief Care Support Ministry
• Excellence in Leadership (EiL)
• Lay Academy (Theologian/Scholar in Residence)
